CRESCENDO: becoming louder
DECRESCENDO: becoming softer
PIANISSIMO: very soft
FORTISSIMO: very loud
SFORZANDO: forceful, sudden accent
MARCATO: stressed, pronounced
SOTTO VOCE: undertone (whispered or unvoiced)
MORENDO: dying away
